Summary
This dataset provides regional geological information for northwest Wisconsin.
Description
This dataset is a georeferenced image of sheet 1 of "Bedrock Geology of Wisconsin, Northwest Sheet", originally published by the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey (WGNHS) in 1987 at a scale of 1:250,000. The bedrock geology shown is a lithostratigraphic interpretation of the bedrock units at the land surface or, in some areas, the uppermost bedrock unit encountered beneath unconsolidated glacial sediment. The map depicts the distribution of the various bedrock units and features; a general description of the lithologic character and nomenclatural identification of the units, a cross section, and other information can be found on sheet 2 of the publication. For more information contact the WGNHS map sales office at 608-263-7389 or mapsales@uwex.edu.
