This raster represents results of the groundwater susceptibility model for Columbia County, Wisconsin. The model shows relative susceptibility of different areas of Columbia County to groundwater contamination originating from surface or near-surface sources. Note that this dataset was developed from data of varying map scales and may not be accurate for site-specific applications.
This raster dataset represents the results of the groundwater susceptibility model calculated for Columbia County, Wisconsin. The model uses four raster inputs: depth to the water table, depth to bedrock, annual recharge rate, and type of surficial material. Each input has a 10 m resolution and was assigned the same coordinate system (NAD 1983 HARN Wisconsin Transverse Mercator–Meters). Using a set of predetermined parameters for each input, every cell in the model was assigned a value of 1 to 5, where 5 is most susceptible. The values were summed then divided by 4 obtain an overall ranking for each cell. Areas of open water were excluded from final results. Classification ranks were based on the mean +/- one standard deviation.
