The Driftless Area: The extent of unglaciated and similar terrains in Wisconsin, Illinois, Iowa, and Minnesota

The Driftless Area of southwestern Wisconsin and northwestern Illinois got its name from the lack of glacial sediment ("drift") covering the landscape.
